Thomas Anders as guest at the New Wave Festival in Jurmala, Latvia (1st of August 2004)

Before performance in New Wave Festival held on 1st of August in Jurmala, Latvia, Thomas Anders took part in press conference held in hotel LIELUPE. Apart from representatives of the press and photographers there were also some faithful fans. Press conference lasted approximately 35 minutes. Thomas arrived at 16:05 and has been raised in applause. Here are some questions and Thomas Anders answers on them (briefly): Questioner: When will be the release of your next album and what kind of songs there’ll be included Thomas: The next album will have been released in fall of this year. Mostly there’ll be ballads. Questioner: Are you planning to sing Modern Talking songs in accompaniment with symphonic orchestra like you did it with YOU´RE MY HEART, YOU`RE MY SOUL? Thomas: Maybe after some years, I really can’t tell it but not in the near. Questiner: How many and which songs you’ll perform tonight in New Wave Festival? Thomas: I’ll perform 3 songs. And let it be a surprise for you, exactly which songs I’ll sing. Questioner: What about the show on the ice? Some world-famous figure skaters also will participate there? Thomas: Yes of course, but unfortunately I can’t remember their names. Questioner: When I listened song ‘PLAYING WITH DYNAMITE from your album THIS TIME seems the lyrics have been written about your relationship with Dieter Bohlen. Is there really some tie with him? Thomas: I think these lyrics could be related to anyone, it doesn’t matter to whom – woman or man. I didn’t write these lyrics, it was other person. Questioner: In New Wave Festival participants in 1st, 2nd and 3rd place will receive cash bonus, accordingly 25 000 US Dollar, 20 000 US Dollar, and 15 000 US Dollar. How do you suggest them spend this money? Thomas: Well, it depends on many reasons. If the participant wants to make his singing career, he should spend money on singing lessons to improve his voice and singing style, and manner. If the participant is good in playing some music instrument, for example, guitar, synthesizer etc. then he should invest money there and buy a good instrument. And so on, and so forth. But please don’t invest this money in clothes, cars, houses and in like manner. Questioner: Do you believe in horoscopes and do you have own astrologer? Thomas: I believe in horoscopes but not in daily horoscopes that you can read every day in magazines or newspapers. Cause there are only some lines written for million of people. And that’s not correct because maybe there’ll be only one person whose day will be something like that. I believe in astrology and that there are astrological signs that team up or don’t team up with each other. If you wanna know your own horoscope must pay attention on date, time, place where you’ve born, and many other things. As I said I believe in astrology but it doesn’t mean that I every day look in the crystal ball wondering to know what will happens. ~ laughing ~ After questioning and answering photographers took photos with Thomas one more time, also he agreed to take photos individually with every fan. The last autographs, handshakes, good byes and good luck wishes. Thomas left the hall to go to sound check on the concert hall DZINTARI.    © Photography 2004 by Alex                                           ***************************************  As Thomas mentioned in press conference in New Wave Festival gala concert he performed 3 songs. The first one was ‘Independent girl’ then CHERI CHERI LADY. After that Thomas has a little monolog to audience. He said it’s the first time he’s in Jurmala, it’s a great town and the weather is beautiful. Also he let to guess the audience what song he’ll perform as the last one saying that this song was created 20 years ago and played (and still plays) a big role in his life. Of course it was YOU`RE MY HEART, YOU`RE MY SOUL. Every song has been accompanied with applauses.  After performance Thomas left the stage also with heartwarming applauses.
